HOUSE RENOVATION AND EXPANSION, FILOTHEI, 2012
The project was to renovate, strengthen and expand (43m2) a stone-made detached house (227m2) built in a “green” suburb of Athens since 1954. Apart from the aesthetical and functional upgrade and the reduction of the energy consumption ,the main goal was to shelter the needs of a five-member family and connect the house to the garden. To achieve that we had to demolish several partition walls, expand the verandas and construct some pergolas to provide enough shade for the summer.
The main idea was to simplify the facades, create an open-plan interior space, use warm, natural and textured materials in a grey-beige palette and to enlighten with some tints of bright colors on the furniture.
