DECORATION OF A TRADITIONAL HOUSE IN “CHORA” OF PATMOS (2019)
It is always pleasant to work in places like Patmos. This time it was about decorating a stone house with the traditional materials of Patmos. Everything in that house is a product of craftsmanship that follows the tradition. The wardrobes are old , free-standing from walnut wood with mirror on the doors, the cupboards from the local trellis- half engraved slats, the floors are from the traditional cotto produced on the island and from pine planks. The windows made with the traditional technique (with internal shutters) are painted with oil paint in beige and dark red shades. The ceilings are made of wooden beams and pine planks. On the walls, textiles and handicrafts bought from markets in the East were selected. White sheets and throws. The fixtures of the lights are antique bronze, crystal and blown glass. At the inner courtyard, simply two folding wooden lounge chairs with white cotton fabric and a small table for the tray.
