TRADITIONAL HOUSE, PATMOS, 2006
The house is located on the outskirts of the traditional town of Chora on Patmos Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a view of the Prophet Elias monastery.
It consists of two independent bedrooms, a kitchen, a living-room that can also serve as a guest room, two covered sitting areas and a large courtyard.
This building revives all the elements of the local architectural tradition: stone whitewashed walls, ochre-coloured stone frames around the openings, vaulted openings over the covered sitting areas, a walled courtyard giving privacy from the street.
The materials used are: stone, rough white plaster and wood.
